Child Safety Standards

Bark Park Buddies is committed to creating a safe online environment for all users. We do not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on our platform. This document outlines our standards, prevention practices, and how to report concerns.

Our Standards

Bark Park Buddies strictly prohibits any content, behavior, or activity that:

Constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
Sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors in any way
Involves grooming, solicitation, or attempts to develop inappropriate relationships with minors
Facilitates the trafficking, exploitation, or harm of children
Promotes, encourages, or normalizes the abuse or sexualization of minors

Violations result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Age Requirements

Bark Park Buddies is intended for users aged 13 and older, in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Users under the age of 18 should only use Bark Park Buddies with parental guidance and supervision.

Prevention Practices

To prevent CSAE and protect minors on our platform, we:

Require users to agree to our Terms of Service which prohibit harmful content and behavior
Provide in-app reporting tools for users to report concerning content or behavior (see "Reporting Concerns" below)
Review reports promptly and take appropriate action, including account termination
Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations involving child safety
Report suspected CSAM to NCMEC as required by U.S. law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A)

Reporting Concerns

If you encounter content or behavior in Bark Park Buddies that you believe violates these standards, please report it immediately:

In-app: Use the report feature available on user profiles, dog profiles, photos, reviews, and messages. Tap the menu (⋯) icon and select "Report."

Email: support@barkparkbuddies.app with subject line "Child Safety Concern"

Urgent reports: For situations involving imminent harm to a child, please also contact local law enforcement and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at CyberTipline.org or 1-800-843-5678.

All reports are reviewed within 48 hours. We will take appropriate action, which may include content removal, account suspension or termination, and referral to law enforcement.

Bark Park Buddies complies with applicable child safety laws including:

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) — United States
The Providing Resources, Officers, and Technology To Eradicate Cyber Threats to Our Children Act (PROTECT Our Children Act) — United States
18 U.S.C. § 2258A — Mandatory reporting of CSAM to NCMEC
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — European Union, where applicable

Changes to This Policy

We may update these standards from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
