Terms of Service

Welcome to Bark Park Buddies. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bark Park Buddies mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Bark Park Buddies ("we," "us," or "our").

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

By accessing or using Bark Park Buddies, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Bark Park Buddies. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account and dog profiles
• Keep your contact information up to date
• Notify us immediately at support@barkparkbuddies.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You agree to use Bark Park Buddies only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not harm other users or the Service. You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or defamatory content (including false lost dog alerts or fabricated safety reports)
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Upload content that is obscene, offensive, or violates any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems
• Use the Service for commercial solicitation without our written permission
• Scrape, crawl, or data-mine the Service in any automated fashion
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity

You retain ownership of content you create and post on Bark Park Buddies, including photos, reviews, and dog profiles ("User Content").

By posting User Content, you grant Bark Park Buddies a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and use that content within the app and for purposes of operating and promoting the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you have the rights to post it and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms or that we deem harmful to the community, without notice.

The Bark Park Buddies name, logo, app design, and all original content created by us are our intellectual property and may not be used without our written permission.

Park data displayed in the app is sourced in part from OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL license.

We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
• Park information (hours, amenities, conditions) is accurate or up to date
• Lost dog alerts will result in the recovery of a pet
• Safety reports reflect the current condition of any park

You use the Service and visit dog parks at your own risk. We are not responsible for incidents that occur at any dog park, or for interactions between dogs or people facilitated through the app.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bark Park Buddies and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of — or inability to use — the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for a free service, is zero).

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if continued access poses a risk to other users or the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) will do so.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in North Carolina.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app. Your continued use of Bark Park Buddies after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
